Meet Jon Carder

Founder, Dad, and Slime Stand Sidekick

Meet Jon Carder

Jon’s entrepreneurial journey started at age 10 with a hot dog stand at the end of his parents’ driveway. He was crushing it, until a police cruiser rolled up. Thinking it was a customer, Jon ran over, buns in hand… only to be shut down for operating without a food permit. Business lesson #1: permits matter. That stand only lasted a day, but the entrepreneurial spirit stuck.

In college, Jon launched his first real company selling baby products out of his dorm room (and the early internet). Since then, he’s founded seven companies, hired hundreds of employees, raised over $100 million in venture capital, and had five successful exits.

But nothing compares to this.

My Lil Startup is Jon’s favorite venture yet, not because of the slime (okay, maybe a little), but because he gets to build it with his daughter Chloe. Together, they’re on a mission to inspire the next generation of kidpreneurs by giving kids the tools, confidence, and real-world skills to start their own businesses, starting with slime.

Jon’s taking everything he’s learned over decades of entrepreneurship and baking it into every lesson, flyer, and goofy slime charm to help kids dream big, act bold, and launch their very first startup (even if it’s from a folding table in the driveway).
